A look inside the profitable world of online marketing.
What can I do to REALLY help you?
Hey guys:
January has been a period of deep reflection for me.
I have spent a lot of time thinking about my business, my success, and what it all means in the big scheme of things…
And most importantly how it all impacts the people who have turned to me for business advise and help getting started online.
The bottom line is that I feel like I need to do more…
Like I am not really able to help as many people as I would like.
So tell me: What can I do to REALLY help you?
I look forward to your comments.
To your success,
Erik

How do you upload a website using ftp, mysql.and kompozer?
Example: I have a free website in a folder with all of the necessary information inside. How do I edit the information and make a working website with it. From start to finish. (You asked about helping)
Thanks – Joe

Hi Eric,
Wow! You have it going on. This is a great looking site and more importantly your content is first class. I wanted to thank you for the 12-days of Christmas. I look forward always to your email because it is always helpful. I have just got involved in the internet business and made wrong decisions and payed dearly for it. Scams are a huge part of the internet and it is nice to see someone that is honest like you and Ken helping instead of collecting. When I was in the NFL I met a guy who became a multi millionaire. He has come back into my life (it is funny how God brings you back to someone just at the right time) and he and his wife have something going on that I would like to tell you about. If you are interested (it really is worth hearing) I be glad to share this with you and how it will benefit you and your family. Timing is everything and this particular challenge is now. Thanks Eric and I’d be happy to tell you some details that are known to a few so far. Thanks Eric.

Dear Erik,
Thanks for caring. Actually I had quite of bit of trouble lately and not because of your web site but because of another program that I spent way more than I should have on it, and the program failed miserably on delivering on it’s promises.
This has left me with more on my credit cards than I can afford to pay. I even re-joined Gamblers A. to deal with my compulsive spending on internet get rich quick schemes.
I have a severe hearing disability and currently trying to live on Social Security Disability only. My hearing impairment gets in the way of me getting a job these days because most jobs left or public service jobs where you have to meet the public and respond to their needs and orders and questions. If you have to ask them to repeat themselves over and over again this gets very anoying to the public.
I guess what really threw me though, is my repeated attempts through Go-daddy to get my own web site publish. I never seemed to have all the information I needed to get the site up and running, even after making several calls to their support staff which is hard for me because I don’t hear on the phone to good. When dealing with detail information over the phone, I miss a lot because detail information is not (common words) that make it easy for your brain can guess at what is being said.
Your probably wonder by now about hearing aids. I have only one ear that is still able to benefit from a hearing aid. However I’m reaching the limits of technology with the hearing aids. To put it a different way, it helps but it is far from perfect even though it’s the best aid I can find for my hearing loss.
I suppose if I had enough money I could solve my web publishing problems but as I said before I simply tapped out now.

Hi Erik!
Loved your rendition of Silent Night! You are as talented as Bing Crosby, lol. Hey, I would love to chat with you via email- but not on your blog. Is there an email address I can use for you? You have mine above.

Hi Erik: I’ve been following you for months, got your 12 Days of Christmas but didn’t have a chance to get online (it was an inconvenient time for me). I kept everything, printed out the Content page of each video. Now that I have more time, I’m not able to open the videos. Guess I waiting too long for the “right” time and missed out. I love what you are doing in teach us the basics and you make things so clear. I’m not too computer savey so need good slow instructions. Anyway, continue to do just what you’re doing. I’ll keep following. Make it a great day!! Evelyn

Erik, not sure if you can help me, as you have done so much already. You are there when I need you, and you have helped guide me.
But, Maybe I can help you help others. Let me know.

Erik,
Your 12-Day of Christmas program was an excellent program and a great motivator for me. Having just lost my job, it was a God sent and a great way to end the year going into the New Year. Not only did it give me a good overview on starting up an Internet business, it also helped to get me focused and to take action. I invested in one of the presenters program and am in the process of launching a site in the Real Estate niche.
The thing that I would benefit from the most would be to get involved with a Master Mind Group. I am currently getting some excellent coaching and am weaning myself from the massive amount of email that I receive each day, along with the never ending list of offers which can so easily distract one, leading to information overload.
Erik, keep up the excellent job of content filled information and service that you provide. I am very appreciative of all that you do. I am taking action to your request as a result of all that you have done for me in helping to point me in the right direction. If there is ever anything that I can do to help, all you have to do is ask.
Erik, your 12 Days of Christmas really helped me out a lot. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have my own product or my site almost done. I got more out of your 12 Days of Christmas, then I have any other course I’ve taken and greatly appreciate being part of it.
Personally, I don’t think there is anything else you could have done. Any problems I’m having now are due to my situation and not a reflection on you. You have been awesome and have gone out of your way to help.
I’m not where I want to be, but again that’s due to my own personal problems (health, finances and mindset). I’m working on getting my mindset back, I’ve just had a number of set backs in the past month or two, which I’m trying to get settled. Until then I’m unable to do what needs to be done. Living with a brain tumor and being stressed out is not a good combination to maintain the proper mindset required. Hopefully, this will all be rectified in the not too distant future.

Hi Erik!
I want to thank you for your wonderful support! We’ve just started in the Internet world and it’s just taking time as we do not have any “lists” or “followings” to send people to our website hence – no traffic to it yet. I’m trying blogging and next I will try to write an article but it will just take time. We’re struggling just like everyone else. I do have a question already submitted to you – ticket number #626062. I was having trouble with the new banners. Banner #2 didn’t copy properly onto my website. I don’t know if I did something wrong but the link wouldn’t work. Anyway, when you get time could you please have a look at what I wrote on the ticket and maybe you can help me get the correct link on it. Thanks again for all the support!

Hi Erik,
I don’t think you need to feel that you have not fulfilled what you offered. You’ve done that just fine.
What would be helpful is coaching that fills out a funnel. What I have discovered is that a $27 ebook is really more appropriate as a self-liquidating offer that essentially funds the rest of a funnel.
It’s true that someone could just rinse and repeat the formula of creating an ebook and make some money with each one, but the real money is in the back end, and creating that is something that few people teach.
Just IMO

Eric, I read, listen and apply as much as I can of your advice. My dilemma is list building!! My site resides in a tough arena of old school guys with fixed ideas. I want to build a list that will help support my retirement not necessarily make me a millionaire. After several months I have 22 members on my way to 2000. Any ideas?

I need help with keyword research. I don’t know where to start mainly. I’m not terribly creative so coming up with niche ideas is like pulling teeth with me.
I’ve been trying to do a little bum marketing, but when it comes to finding viable niches I’m lost. The book I read said to find ones with less than 10,000 competition and 900+ searches a month. Are there really such niches out there?? Help!

Erik – First and foremost I am, as always when it comes to you, moved by the fact that you care enough about your subscribers/clients to reach and genuinely ask for feedback. I am a student of several of your programs including the web and traffic master programs. I realize now that I should never have veered off the path that you outlined in the Faster Webmaster because what it really resulted in was a total loss of my valuable time. Like some others, I have invested a lot of money in a number of programs that have proved to be nothing more than “hype” and a lot of re-hash. At the end of the day, I have noticed a trend with certain well-known marketers (not you). Let me provide an analogy — they will give you a lot of information or stated differently piece parts, but never the sum of those parts…you get the door, but seldom the master key to it. Does this make sense? Another trend I have noticed a lot of late is the never-ending “bragging” (again from some of the truly well-known gurus)that is taking place, i.e. I live in a multi-million dollar home and drive a Ferrari or a Bentley…whatever. Prior to internet marketing, I had a career in telecommunications sales and marketing that spanned 25 years and I can tell you in total honesty that people don’t typically want to hear what you’ve done for yourself. Yes, at least speaking for myself, it is good to know that these individuals have achieved that level of financial security and success, and that it is a level that we can aspire to reach. However, what I would prefer to hear are messages like the ones that you have consistently delivered, ones that are straight-forward and clear. Yes, you can be successful, but it takes hard work and time. Your honesty and down-to-earth approach is what has kept me engaged with you for so long. I am now reviewing every program of yours that I purchased and every shred of information that you provided on a step-by-step basis and following your instructions to the “T.” I am actually unsubscribing to many of the lists that I am on because information overload is a real issue, with everyone pushing their products as the best thing since “sliced potatoes.” I have learned one thing, stay focused on one venture at a time. For me anything else is a waste of material. Your information has been wonderful. The biggest challenges I see are niche selection and list building. Thank you for the 12 Day of Christmas — it was fantastic. You rock! Keep up the good work. Genuinely caring about your subscribers is what sets you apart from much of your competition!

Hi Erik,
You sir are a really good guy.
I wish I had found you before I had blown so much time and money on the meager beginnings I have achieved with a full year invested in http://www.whymembershipsitesrock.com .
I think that we (not you) need to figure out what we have to work with in terms of passions (that align with potential profits), and then determine what we are willing to do to assure our success on the internet.
The beginning is confusing because it can have so many variables. when I statred out, I didn’t even know what I didn’t know.
Looking back I think I’d like to see a somewhat simple way to make a little money right out of the gate in a field or topic that I enjoy.
Next, I think would be a way to take the next natural step to start putting a list together in my chosen field (one that has potential profits) and begin to ad affilaite prodects and services to continue to grow income.
Lastly I would like to focus on creating my own product(s) (or adapt an existing one) while I keep improving upon it.
And finally I’d like to keep adding additional products and services to the mix in order to provide value for my subscribers as I continue to grow my income.
You Erik are a fine man and your compassion shows.
The 12 days was a really nice collection of talent (the timing was difficult for me) and content.
The fact that it became a saleable product in the end was even further evidence of how the bigger picture works.
Thank you for all of that.
We need to take responsibilty for where our beginning is and act on that accordingly.
I don’t know if you could do anymore to help us if we aren’t willing to do that.
Be well Erik, Rick Falls

Erik, In response to your email to me today. I would like to be truthful to you about the 12 days of christmas training. I listened in on the first three or four days training and I just couldnt take it any more. I am a guy that likes to get to the nitty gritty without beating around the bush, and that was exactly what was happening on the telecasts. I was recieving information that was way out of order. I am sure it was good info, but it does me no good to try and remember that info when I will not be ready for it till later. I can’t seem to get anybody to help show the information needed in the exact order and in explicit detail. Even when you buy ebooks that supposedly have all the details–their lying!I guess I will continue gathering piece by piece till I have enough of the puzzle to put it all together. Thanks, Dan

HI ERIK,
Since you asked, I was disappointed in myself for not going back to see all of your 12 Days info. I wrote a note to go back in my inbox and search for your name so I could find your emails again, but I think the note got lost! Thanks for the email today and thanks for asking. My problems are technical, such as “How to put a pdf file or free report on a page where my visitors can access it?” and “How to put youtube videos on my page and make them smaller?”
Thanks for reminding me to go back and find your emails!

Any suggestion will be greatfully accepted and carefully examined.

Hi Erik,
Just wanted to let you know that your Faster Webmaster instruction was fantastic. It was clear(not too technical for newbies)and was a great source to refer to along the way.
I did get stuck at one stage with Kompozer(had trouble going back & editing)so I moved on to Joshua Shafran’s Thin Air [program.
Still plugging away, one day at a time. Not much housework gets done these days, but I figure when I get this going I can pay someone else to do that!!Yeh.
Keep up the great work, I love your nice friendly personal approach.

Hey Erik,
The comments are right. You have helped us out a lot. But, if you were to do another series I would certainly like some one to show how to take a product and set it up in a giveaway. For a product I mean like an ebook, articles or software. That is a great way for people to add to their list and would be helpful for all just starting out. Thanks again for your help and keep it up.

I have so much appreciation for the 12 days of Christmas, it was fabulous and so helpful in an easy to absorb format. My big problem is information overload because internet marketing is so different from anything I have ever done before and sometimes I feel so challenged on the technical stuff.
But I am taking it slowly after spending way too much on way too little last year (time and Money).
Thanks for your information. Lyn.

Erik,
In answer to your question I really don’t know what you can do to help me. You see I received the The Fastest Webmaster as a gift from Mary Gersten whose program I belong to. I had not heard of you until then. I subscribe to allot of her recommendations. Basically though I am swamped with work, have a rough outline of what to do about it and keep purchasing programs which never see the light of day. I believe it is up to me to make inroads into something and I am doing that now slowly. So Erik I really don’t know what you can do for me.

Hi Erik,
I appreciate the many things that you have done to help others, although I could not always take advantage of them.
Recently I have seen e-mails and web pages about legally setting up your business so you don’t get in trouble with the law.
Though many of us come to the internet to try to make money we want to be legal, I noticed in your about Erik that you formed Stafford Marketing, LLC in late 2006.
Is that what is meant to be legal if not can you expand on how do we set up a business correctly?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Eric,
I have every intention of building a website, but have been snowed with responsibilities that sap my time and energy. I have basically no money to spend on the website, so I will probably get something with no frills when I eventually have the time and brain space to do it. I am not handy with a computer, so this will take me a long time to figure out what to do. I really appreciated your free advice and instruction on how to get a domain name. I ran into trouble with the credit card on line thing. The little stuff is getting me down.

Hi Erik,
Yes! The 12 Days of Christmas was awesome! My Favorite was Day 8 Bob Jenkins. I purchased cPanel and that has really helped speed things up. I bought a new domain name http://www-freegrantmoney.com and uploaded a simple CPA offer site using an iFrame redirect.
I just have too many ideas and things going on at once which makes it tough because there’s not enough time. I’m a member of Tellman’s list building club, Shawn Casey’s Mining for Gold club, Jeff Dedrick’s materials, Aymen’s Arbitrage Conspiracy, and many more. I’m maybe a little overloaded. I took the shotgun approach with the idea something might stick!
Right now I’ve got to focus on PPC to CPA marketing. When I crank that up to a point where I can quit my job (my goal is April 1) I’m coming back to all these other things.
Thanks Again,
Casey

Affiliate marketing is a great, cheap way to get started online. Find a product that you think will resonate with an audience (Acne cream for teenagers, for example) and get yourself an affiliate link. Send some traffic to your link, through one of the methods you probably already know about (Write articles, press releases, blog posts, etc. etc.) and see what happens.
It’s easy, and it’s free… and it’s good practice.

One more thing:
Those of you having trouble with taking steps in the right order, or figuring out what to do first:
If I were to give you any advise, it would simply be this: Build your online business the way you would build any other business: Do your research, plan it carefully, build it smart, and stick with the game plan you lay out for yourself.
Here is a rough guide:
Competitive/Market Research
Market planning
Website creation
Product creation
Testing
Launch
Traffic
It’s going to take focused, hard work.
I hope it helps. I keep telling people this, and hopefully it sticks with you.

Hi Erik,
You give great content (focus on give). It’s great. How you’ve helped me is this: I got your ebook 7 Minute web sites. Got one up. Not great, but got it up. Then got a new computer that has vista and coffe cup and vista do not like each other. Found another resource to put up sites with and I have since improved my site and am working to make it better. Added a wordpress blog and will be adding a forum. I have played around some with blogger, and have put up squidoo and hub pages. I have started to make some money. It’s all a learning curve, see what works, what doesn’t and what needs improved.
I listen to 4 people about biz online and you’re one of the top.
Have a great week.

You so ROCK! I don’t remember how I found you in 2007 and I will always be grateful. You are one of my Divine connections and I am blessed.
I bought FWM 12/07 and even tho I was in the midst of putting Investment Atlas to print for a client (www.InvestmentAtlas.com) I was able to take some of the information and put it to use, behind the scenes, for another client (80ProvenWays.com).
If I were to have any regrets, which aren’t helpful at all, it would be that I didn’t take the time in 2008 to truely digest the info and create my own products.
And. . .
I attended the 12 Days of Christmas and am soooooo grateful that you are now mentoring me. It’s priceless.
One of my jobs in the 80s was to be the liason between the computer geeks who built the propriatary software for the company and the food service directors who had to learn how to use it. (Remember the HP150s with touch screens?) Once I understand the techy pieces I’m very good at translating them for the non-techy person.
I am so grateful for your help with connecting the “techy” dots and am looking forward to cocreating magic, miracles, and lots of $$ with you.
Please have your kids give you a big hug for me.

Erik,
Thank you very much for Christmas Program, I really enjoyed it.
There is one thing we newbies need to learn in particular.
Concentrate on one project at a time for at least 90 days and unsubscribe from anything else during that time.
Then decide if it is good or not. It is impossible to follow several programs at once.
Second ting would be to have a team. It is a daunting task even for an expert to do everything alone.
You can’t be a superb quarter back and superb receiver at the same time.
It would be great if would be possible to team up and learn one task well e g FTP and concentrate on that while someone else gets on to blogs and then we could all help each other and so move faster.
I guess there are 10 – 15 separate tasks which need to done to get it going. Maybe you could take 3 tasks and team up with 4 others …
Just an idea … it takes effort, trust and unselfishness …
All the best
Rolf

Dear Erik,
I just visit your new launch site and I’m sad to inform you I can’t attend, my schedule is conflicting with the time. I’m signed up to give a talk at one of my meetings at that precise time. The talk is about something that I know nothing about (love). That’s the subject because it’s close to Valentine’s Day
)
I’ll be thinking of and praying for those 50 that get in on your program and wish them all the success and fulfilled dreams they can handle. I truly pray that everyone of them to prosper.
Tell them not to make an idol out of wealth. Wealth is just simply a nice tool if you happen to own it. You give your subscribers something for more valuable than wealth, you give them your love.
Anyway my Higher Power wants me to keep my meeting commitment, that comes first to me now. Have a great launch time.

Also a special thanks for replying to my email so quickly… I will surely make the time to review and study all of the Faster Webmaster 2 in its entirety… then put it into action. I had no idea it was SO comprehensive, offering much more than ever imagined.
Looking forward to working with you in the near future with the special mentoring program you’re offering for only $60.00 per month. I’m sure it will be just what I need to overcome my lack of “techy” skills under your leadership, patience and guidance.
Please keep up the great work… you truly have a good heart and your attention to detail in all of your products and services is very encouraging.
With respect and admiration,
