So it’s day #1 of my juice fast today.
The goal is three days of nothing but juice and water. I started prepping yesterday by skipping coffee and doubling my water intake. I ate a light lunch and dinner and it went pretty well.
I skipped coffee this morning again and starting to get a little headache from the caffeine withdrawal, but otherwise I’m doing good
I highly recommend buying juices for your fast to make life easier. I’m drinking a mixture of mostly green juices from Juicelation here in Naples, and it’s been awesome so far.
Do you have any idea how much work it is to make seven juices a day?
Juicelation delivered 21 juices, bottled and ready to go…
By calling them up, I’m able to just work and drink juice rather than spending the next 72 hours standing in my kitchen chopping and washing vegetables and greens.
If everything goes well, I may extend my juice fast out to a week or even longer by switching to our juicer…
But it’s on it’s last legs and we really need a new one. So while that would be a convenient excuse to spend $300 bucks, I’m not willing to commit to that just yet 🙂
Anyways, I started my morning with a beet juice.
I haven’t had beet juice in a long time and I’m always surprised by the color of what comes out of my rear end when I juice beets.
Since I’m juicing, I left it to the kids to write their own grocery list this week and I have to say, eating crappy processed food is certainly cheaper than juicing. My juice fast is costing me roughly $55/day while the kids groceries for the entire week were under $100 bucks.
Here’s the list they gave me:
- Hamburger Buns
- Ramen Noodles
- Cheese and Tortillas (for quesadillas)
- Pop Tarts
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
What the hell… It’s summer, right? I’ll let the kids junk out a little if they want while I juice myself clean.
Botching on their list makes me hungry except the burgers. The smell of grilling burgers might drive me mad!!!
