A look inside the profitable world of online marketing.
How can I make a difference in your life?
Erik Stafford here… and I saw a story today on CNN’s website that really got me thinking:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/05/23/project.compassion/index.html
Hundreds of families across The United States have received portraits of their fallen loved ones thanks to Project Compassion, a nonprofit organization dedicated to painting every American military service member who has died on active duty since the September 11, 2001, attacks.
More than 1,000 portraits (offered at no charge) have been completed since founding artist Kaziah Hancock began the project in 2003.
Think about it: this woman has made 1,000 free paintings for other people.
Agree with the war, disagree with the war, whatever your political views may be…
I just find that incredible.
I know it’s totally different, but let me ask you: What can I do for you?
How can I make a difference in your life?
Let me know.
To your success,
Erik

Thanks so much for bring this story to our attention. I can only imagine the gratitude of the beloved families that have been the recipients of the talent’s of these generous artist and the woman that started Project Compassion. The ability to appreciate not only the individual fallen hero but the generous awareness of the lives and loves they left behind is a precious gift not only to the ones left behind but to the artists that have made a commitment to Project Compassion. I wish we had more stories like this one. These artists are inspirational examples of people who can look beyond politics and wars and see the souls of the humans who have gone on and those left behind.
Another wonderful story was brought to my attention the other night when my daughter called looking for family pictures. She was trying to pull pictures together for a project that she wants done for her kids (my grandchildren). It seems that there is a project being done through the YMCA in Watertown, NY, to make a free quilt for every child who has a parent deployed. Watertown is the town closest to Fort Drum which is the home of the 10th Mountain Division and this Army division has seen a LOT of time in both Afghanistan and Iraq. You might guess that my grandchildren’s father is now deployed and I assure you this entire family is made up of only “heroes”. Not only is their Dad living up to the commitment he made but the entire family is “living up” as well!
I have such admiration for the men and women who choose to “wear the uniform”, but the families that stay behind and stand committed are true “unsung” heroes. Erik, perhaps you could help me to figure out a way to tell some of these stories. So, give it some thought. Maybe some of these families could use some free encouragement that they can earn additional income online. Most military families are always in need of additional income – there are a lot of myths out there about how much is “free”?????

Actually you already have. I love the 7 minute website book, and though I’ve just started I am doing it. This is my learning site and I’m having fun learning. I can’t wait until I’m up and running so I can promote your products. There are some people who’ve really helped me a lot and those are the one’s I will promote. You are at the top of the list. Thank you.

Hi Erik
Wow, what an amazing gesture…I love seeing people step into the positive possibilities found everywhere in this world. I truly believe we can raise the positive energy in the world when we change our focus to the positive (like the step you’ve taken and the artist who is making a difference in so many lives).
I’m on a campaign to collect and publish at least one million stories of kindness from around the world and am learning my way through the process of getting the word out (you can check out http://www.onemillionacts.com for what has been done so far–all ideas, suggestions, recommendations welcome!).
Why do I want to do this? Because I truly believe there are millions, if not billions, of these stories that aren’t heard and I believe changing our focus to the positive changes the world to a positive place. I have a vision of fabulous news flooding the media and “bad” news hidden away some where in corner…if covered at all.
You asked how you can help. What I would love most is …help in getting the word out to people that their stories are an essential component to healing our planet. I’m sure I’ll need technical help somewhere down the road and I’m just as sure it will be there when it is needed.
And, in my opinion, the first step is to get the stories collected…if you have another thought or three, do let me know! I know I’m learning my way through a lot of new stuff, so I could be wrong!
The stories can be short, long, in between. Something a person did for themselves, another person, for the environment, an animal. Something you saw done or heard about (like the amazing artist you highlighted in your post).
I see kindness taking so many forms and having so many benefits for the giver AND the receiver. And the ripple effect of one, simple, act of kindness is beyond human comprehension. Your act of asking how you can help added a HUGE deposit to the Universal Bank of Kindness (U B OK). Thank you, thank you, thank you! You ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
And to Dianne…I would LOVE to help you publish the stories of the people so valiantly serving our country. I do not agree with the approach being used to “solve” the conflict (don’t even get me started on that one!) AND I do believe in supporting those individuals and their families. I don’t have the technical knowledge and online marketing savvy Erik does and maybe there is a way we could share the stories and create a community some way…thoughts off the top of my head for the moment!
And I ask you: how can I make a difference for you and those you know? Please do let me know since that is one of my top passions!
Love and light, hugs and blessings

Hi Erik,
Just wanted to let you know what you did for me today. I read comments from Jerilynne and went to her http://www.onemillionacts.com. What a beautiful site and a wonderful pursuit. Everyone should have a lift to their day and their spirits with a visit to Jerilynne’s site. Erik, thanks for asking.
To Jerilynne, after visiting your site I can assure you that you are light years away from me when it comes to creativity. What an outstanding campaign. I do have some thoughts:-)! I will be passing this website address along to everyone I can think of…
Everyone have a wonderful and safe holiday and above all remember to have gratituded to the “men and women” who wear the uniform and the families that support them!

Eric I am so frustrated with this whole thing. I have been trying four about four and a half years to get this internet marketing right. My whole desk top is covered with downloaded info. I have been reading for a solid week and still cant understand. These people gave me a website already to go and all I have to do is promote it. I have been registering at forums ,enzines and all other free advertising. It is ok for people like u to say $49 is almost free, but if you dont have any spare money $49 is a huge amount. I am a single mother of six,on disability, so any amount of money is a lot to me.I need somebody to help me because I dont want to be poor for the rest of my life. I would like to be able to buy xboxes and the like for my kids.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for your thoughts on this.
Jerilynne: Your website is amazing, thank you so much for sharing. I have submitted a story for you:)
Irving/Paula: I am working on a series of videos showing exactly how to do what you are trying to do.
I will shoot it over when it’s ready, in the meantime email me with specific questions and I will do my best to help. (info[AT]thefasterwebmaster.com)
Cheryl: There are a lot of products out there… and when you belong to the lists of several Internet Marketers (which you should, because it’s a great way to see what others are writing, and learn good copywriting skills)… It’s easy to get overwhelmed.
My advice would be to find a product and stick with it, go through it, finish it, and implement the instructions and concepts contained within it before you move on to something else.
It’s the only way to not get sidetracked, lose focus, or spend a fortune.
Regards,
Erik

Erik…I got your story and love it! It is going on the site today.
Wow, what an amazing place the Internet is!
Blessings
